Earthshot Prize Appointment

We’re pleased to announce that SDG Global Group has been appointed as Official Nominator for The Earthshot Prize, the global environmental prize and platform for impact set up by the UK’s Prince William, which is dedicated to finding and growing solutions that will repair our planet this decade.

Nominators are selected for their ability to identify the most impactful solutions across all sectors, around the world. They are responsible for identifying, working with, and nominating businesses that are suitable for the program.

The program is focused on solutions which make tangible progress towards one of the five Earthshots:

  1. Protect and Restore Nature.
  2. Clean our Air.
  3. Revive our Oceans.
  4. Build a Waste-Free World.
  5. Fix our Climate.

After nominations are submitted to the program by the Nominators, they are screened as part of a rigorous assessment process, culminating in the selection of five winners by Prince William and the Earthshot Prize Council, each of which receives one million pounds, with all 15 finalists entering The Earthshot Fellowship Programme for a year of dedicated support.

We’re delighted to be a part of this global community and look forward to working with businesses and the Earthshot Prize team to help identify suitable businesses and solutions for the program.

UNGA And Climate Week

New York was packed for the UN General Assembly and Climate Week.

Reportedly the biggest yet, there were over 600 events, so impossible to do them all, but focused on those relating to Africa and sustainable finance.

Global Powers & Multilateralism in Africa Seminar

Much of the discussion on Africa has been around the competition between nations for the resources and markets.

Time to shift the discussion and action to competition between nations, business, entrepreneurs and investors to provide and fund solutions for African businesses and projects, for sustainable development that leaves more of the wealth generation within the Continent so it can grow and achieve its potential.
